What an excellent resource for newbies to the desert! So many books and materials on the internet really aren't suited to the desert. Noelle's membership offers a truly affordable easy way to get access to targeted information and personal feedback unlike any other resource out there. I have learned more in a month than I ever could have on my own.

I am a New England Master Gardener and moved to southern AZ 14 years ago. Our backyard had minimal plantings and a postage stamp Bermuda Grass lawn. I took Tucson Botanic Garden classes, found which nurseries grew many of the plants they sell here, bought multiple books, and added perennial gardens, trees, and shrubs over the years. Although I did a little gardening back East, I quickly learned that gardening in the desert is completely different. I get so much out of Through the Garden Gate for its resources and camaraderie with other desert gardeners. The semi-monthly meetings we have with Noelle are an opportunity to get my questions answered, and I also learn so much from the questions others ask. And it’s FUN to see photos from other gardeners and exchange ideas on the TTGG Facebook page! I especially love seeing photos of plants that a gardener may have assumed were hopeless and then seeing the same plant three months after rejuvenating. I have posted any number of them! I was rewarded with a beautiful flowering garden! I love Through the Garden Gate and will continue to use the resources it offers as I continue my gardening journey.
